TAVAS Takes First Place in Innovation
23 January 2025TAVAS continues to take charge of innovation within Israel’s cleaning and maintenance services sector. In a prestigious program for training innovation leaders, jointly organized by The Joint, the Technion, the Ministry of Economy, the National Digital Array, and the Israel Innovation Authority, Avi Yeshurun, a representative of the company, won the esteemed first-place award for a groundbreaking project in operational efficiency using innovative tools.
TAVAS was the only cleaning company to participate in this elite program, which included CEOs and senior executives from leading companies in the commerce and services industries. The decision to appoint a dedicated manager for innovation and technology at TAVAS highlights the company’s commitment to driving significant change in the sector, leveraging deep market knowledge and emerging trends.
As part of the program, participants explored diverse topics covering all stages of innovation: from understanding the innovation process and the crucial role of leadership to implementing effective measurement practices, identifying growth drivers, refining customer value propositions, and developing personal innovation projects for each participant.
The award-winning project tackled one of the most pressing challenges in the cleaning industry today – a severe workforce shortage, estimated at 41,000 workers. The proposed solution integrates advanced technologies, including autonomous robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), and IoT, to revolutionize the field.
As part of the project, innovative solutions were identified, including autonomous robots to perform washing and cleaning tasks, smart IoT systems to monitor toilet facilities in real time, and AI systems for efficient workforce management. In addition, advanced tools were identified that improve working conditions, increase operational efficiency, and create a healthier and more interesting work environment for cleaning workers.
These cutting-edge solutions include autonomous robots and dedicated machinery to reduce labor hours and improve cleaning efficiency, AI technologies for optimal planning and management of cleaning activities, and advanced tools to alleviate physical workload, improve workforce productivity, and enhance the image of cleaning professionals. A smart software solution was also developed to create data-driven work plans, predict ROI, and deliver precise tender proposals.
The innovative solutions offer significant advantages to clients, including improved cleaning standards, operational efficiency, reduced labor hours, flexible work schedules, complete transparency through advanced monitoring systems, and a safer, more pleasant work environment. “Winning this competition is further evidence of TAVAS’s leadership in innovation within the cleaning and maintenance sector,” said Avi. “We are proud to lead and implement the technological revolution in the cleaning industry, providing our clients and cleaning staff with the most advanced and tailored solutions.”
As part of the final project, participants analyzed challenges, identified growth drivers, and proposed methods for measuring and implementing advanced solutions. The TAVAS project won first place in the competition and was declared the outstanding project. The victory included a dedicated budget and support from the Technion’s Knowledge Center for Innovation, which will assist in implementing the model in the field.
This remarkable achievement also underscores Electra FM’s commitment to leading innovation in all aspects of its Integrated Facility Management (IFM) services, ensuring ongoing development and growth in the coming years.
