Oren Vazif – The Man Driving Innovation in Security
16 December 2024Whether it’s security systems, logistics, or cutting-edge technological solutions, few individuals in the industry succeed in combining extensive experience with a true passion for continuous improvement. Oren Vazif, a veteran Security Manager (CSO) at Electra Security, exemplifies this combination. With a partnership in a groundbreaking vision and years of accumulated expertise, Vazif oversees critical areas such as safety, logistics, and the covert unit of YASAB (Security Patrol Unit), a discipline that has become a cornerstone of his career.
Revolutionizing the Industry through Simple Ideas
Oren, initially seeking a job that fit his busy schedule as an Industrial Engineering student, began his career at Call Center 99.
When Electra Security was established about ten years ago, Oren joined the company and led the motorcycle unit as the Head of Security for northern Israel. “When I was offered a role in a static unit, I knew it wasn’t for me,” recalls Vazif. “But when Arik suggested I lead the northern motorcycle unit, it was an opportunity to combine my love for motorcycles with meaningful work and spearhead part of the revolution Electra was driving in the security industry.” What competitors saw as an unsuccessful initiative became an industry standard under his leadership. YASAB transformed into a sophisticated motorcycle-based security network that is now a key element in protecting banks, retail chains, healthcare facilities, public institutions, and more.
Leading the motorcycle unit in the north, Oren took the idea a step further. Through economic analysis, he demonstrated how motorcycle usage could save costs in the long term, enhance safety, and provide quicker, more effective responses on the ground. “It’s about efficiency, of course, but also about how we’re perceived by the public,” he notes. “The motorcycle unit reshaped how Electra Security is viewed by our clients.” Rapid response times, nationwide coverage, and growing demand for the company’s services required the development of strategies that ensured both rider safety and professional service quality.
Here, Oren emerged as a top-tier professional, leveraging decades of motorcycle experience to integrate a culture of safe driving and a focus on saving lives. This area, he emphasizes, is no less important than operational capabilities and forms a central part of managing the unit.
The security business has undergone significant changes in recent years. What was once predominantly static is now dynamic and multidisciplinary. Following the events of October 7th, the need for rapid and effective responses to complex and dangerous incidents became more urgent than ever. Oren is spearheading an innovative approach where security personnel are trained in a range of disciplines, including providing initial responses to emergencies such as fires, rescues from terror-related incidents, and more.
“The security sector loves to copy ideas,” he says with a smile, “but we pioneered the concept of territorial mobile security, and now everyone is trying to emulate us.” Oren sees this revolution not just as an opportunity to streamline processes but also to signal to clients the professionalism and readiness to handle any situation.
One of Oren’s most exciting projects is developing training for security services that can provide immediate responses to emergencies. This idea emerged after an incident requiring a quick response to a fire in Kiryat Shmona. “We realized the need to train security personnel not just in traditional roles but also in firefighting, rescue, and emergency operations,” Oren shares.
Inspired by these insights, Oren initiated training for YASAB operatives in emergency services, including professional firefighter training and volunteering in rescue operations. This project, showcasing innovative capabilities in defense and emergency scenarios, earned Oren the top prize in Electra FM’s “Sharks” competition for groundbreaking ideas.
The inspiration for this shift in security perception came from a real emergency, where a trained security officer managed to extinguish a spreading bus fire, evacuate passengers, and prevent disaster. “If he hadn’t been there, the outcome could have been catastrophic,” Oren recounts emotionally.
Despite numerous challenges, Oren views them not as obstacles but as drivers of success. He believes adaptability and forward-thinking are the keys to thriving in the dynamic world of security. “The world is constantly changing, and we must be able to develop tools that prepare us for any scenario,” he says.
His personal inspiration stems not only from professional passion but also from family values and collaboration with colleagues. “Arik and Yossi Danieli, VP of Electra Security, are sources of inspiration for me,” he says. “The values my parents instilled in me—professionalism, humility, and creative thinking—are my compass.”
Thanks to individuals like Oren Vazif, Electra Security continues to lead the security field in Israel, combining unique expertise, innovation, and a genuine passion for the profession.
“I believe success in the security business isn’t just measured by responding to threats but by the ability to adapt, think creatively, and always be prepared for new challenges. This is the only way to lead the industry forward. At Electra Security, our team doesn’t just react to changes—we create the future.”
